The wasps were observed foraging amongst the blossoms on a recently fallen stringybark branch during a heatwave. I am confused about which family they belong to - Thynnidae or Tiphiidae? The male body and wings are an iridescent blue/black, approx 25-30mm in length. The female is smaller with a red legs and red around the rear section of the mesosoma.

This bee was observed foraging amongst the blossoms on a recently fallen stringybark branch during a heatwave. It is about half the size of the European honey bee (in background of 1st image) Unsure if it is of the Lipotriches or Lasioglossum genus

A possible Masked Bee sealing her nest entrance with a cellophane like substance. It's been quite fascinating watching her "lick" the entrance closed. Photos taken a couple of days apart, hopefully of the same species but different holes. The holes are approx 3mm dia

This beautiful wasp was approximately 10-14mm long, resting on a seedling lettuce leaf. Is this possibly a species of paper wasp?

Possible Wasp-mimic bee? The holes in the timber are 8mm diameter, located on my front verandah. I originally thought this insect to be a wasp, however I'm not sure now. It hovered from side to side as it (she?) investigated the various holes, including the one with existing cellophane strands. Sorry for the poor quality images - grandmunchkin fingerprints on camera lens.
