Thank you Kimberi! Wish this site was still the one to go to, am a member of Australia iNaturalist, but I really miss our old Bowerbird.

Wow, thank you Michael - great to know! Pretty sure I've seen those flowers on a nearby property.

Thank you Matthew, for all your assistance...it's so sad to know that Bowerbird won't be there waiting for us to log in whenever we find something interesting, or just plain amazing as most of the photos on Bowerbird are. I've learnt so much from you and others. All the very best for the future!

Thanks Kate! I'd like to follow you on iNat, but I can't find you there, you're not showing up when I do a 'People' search. :(

What's going on here? Is it mating behaviour, or is it one ant about to be eaten by the other? Hoping Kate can id for me before I post on iNaturalist.

Hi all, still reeling from the shock of knowing this wonderful website won't be here forever as it should be. As Janet Grevillea said, it's been wonderful and a little reassuring looking at Bowerbird in these times of shrinking habitats and number of species. So good to be here with so many intelligent, thinking people who love this beautiful country of ours, and act to help preserve the animals and plants here on our small part of Planet Earth. Rather than lose contact, is anyone interested in becoming Facebook friends? My Facebook profile is Dee Petersen, and I have a Rose Robin page running off that one. Again, heartfelt thanks to Ken for the magnificent job he has done in creating and maintaining Bowerbird, and to everyone who has posted, and/or identified my photos. All the very best for the future, and I hope to see lots of Bowerbird friends on Facebook. And I won't stop hoping that somehow Bowerbird will be saved and continue...anyone know any wealthy philanthropists???

Devastating!!! But huge thanks to Ken Walker for everything he's done to provide the opportunity to become a citizen scientist...and also many thanks to all Bowerbird scientists who have identified so many creatures over the years. Wish there was a way to keep Bowerbird going.
