Reptiles are cold-blooded animals that seem to fascinate us and some members, such as snakes, give us concerns. Australia has a rick reptilian fauna of almost 900 species comprising sea turtles, side-necked turtles, Pig-nosed turtles, geckos, legless lizards, dragon lizards, monitors or goannas, skinks. blind snakes, pythons, colubrid snakes, elapid snakes, sea snakes, sea kraits, file snakes and crocodiles. The most diverse of the Australian fauna are the lizards and snakes, in particular in the arid regions of Australia. Join this Project and share your reptilian images and knowledge with us.

This little snake was about 20 cm long, and was newly dead. It seems to have been attacked by another animal, perhaps a bird. I am unable to identify it.

Identified by Rod Hobson, who says these geckoes are common in the Toowoomba/Oakey area. It was about 13 cm long, and nice and plump.
