Moonee Ponds Creek rises in Woodlands Historic Park adjacent to Tullamarine Airport and winds its way through the municipalities of Hume, Moreland, Moonee Valley and Melbourne before joining with the Yarra River for it's final journey to the Bay. It's a creek of contrasts with beautiful upper reaches lined with River Red Gums and kilometres of concrete lined compromise caused by the building of the Tullamarine Freeway. Despite this the tireless efforts of the Friends of Moonee Ponds Creek have created beautiful habitats along it's length and the rewards are plenty.
