    Thasyraea ornata
    (species)
Taxonomy: Animalia: Arthropoda: Arachnida: Araneae: Zoridae: Thasyraea: ornata
Common Names: Spiders, Venomless spiders, cribellate orb weavers, hackled orb weavers
    Liz O'Donnell says

A clearer shot of the head would be good to confirm this, but see http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=2044. If this ID is correct, this is an ALA first for Victoria but I would expect to find it in Victoria given sightings in Tasmania and NSW.

    Backobourkia
    (genus)
Taxonomy: Animalia: Arthropoda: Arachnida: Araneae: Araneidae: Backobourkia
    Liz O'Donnell says

I associate Stephanopis with oversize legs 1 and 2, and a craggy, bark-like texture, see http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=1952 or http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=2182. This looks more like a Backobourkia.

    Tagged With mymicinae monomorium?
    Kate Sandiford says

The two fully constricted waist segments put this ant in the subfamily Myrmicinae. It looks a bit like Monomorium rubriceps but difficult to confirm from this angle. Martin Lagerway has also sighted this species on Bowerbird.
