Australia has over 300 species of stunning odonata (dragonflies and damselflies) from the tropics to the alps. Identification is generally not too difficult because of distinctive patterns. Post images in this group to help with identification. Usually markings on the side of the body (thorax) or top of the tail (abdomen) are most helpful so if your photos show these features its more likely to get identified. Some species are however quite difficult to tell apart from photos, particularly females of some related species. If you post your dragonfly or damselfly in this group it is easier to administer the sightings/
