This solitary beetle was found by Lois Porich. The photograph is by Geoff Walker. This beetle seems quite variable and there might be more than one close species. This beetle is recorded from Queensland and into NSW south to Stanthorpe (not very far), so this spectacular creature is quite a surprise in Victoria. It is recorded feeding on Angophora species which occur very commonly along the entire eastern half of NSW and south to the tip of Victoria at Genoa. It is not likely to occur further into Victoria.0 votes
