    Matt, in pockets there was lovely swathes of colour (much like a good opal find I guess). It was very green and the last 100 odd kilometres heading towards LR there was endless horizons of yellow .... I'll post a couple of long shots but no close ups unfortunately... cheers

    This was shown to me by a couple of Lightning Ridge locals (both in their 90's) and according to the lady it only grows in the LR area. She called it a Bell Hibiscus or 'Opal Bush'
