This looks like the pictures in Fuhrer page 260 but is not growing at the base of the tree rather about 1.5 metres up the trunk of a Messmate. I've never seen them before though they are mentioned as rare. Anyone have an opinion?0 votes

Torbjorn, there' s an arrow pointing to the prior page which is Inonotus nothofagi. You might like to re look at this one. Teresa0 votes

I looked all over Bowerbird trying to find the arrow system pointing to a previous web page before I realised what you meant. I am claiming a bad cold and lack of sleep as my excuse. Thanks for pointing out my error though of course this things was not growing on a Nothofagus.0 votes
