    Clania ignobilis
    (species)
Taxonomy: Animalia: Arthropoda: Insecta: Lepidoptera: Psychidae: Clania: ignobilis
Common Names: Moths, Psychids, faggot case moth
    Matt Campbell says

Identification based on the length of the case (up to 5cm) and the fact that many have one longer twig (as can be seen in the second shot. While we used to have a lot of these around the garden, they've been scarce until the past 2 years and seem to be making a comeback. I found around 15 on the day the first shot was taken. We also have several hundred Saunders Case Moth (Metura elongatus) cases, both in use and old.
