    First appears as a black mass on the lawn and slowly changes to grey as the day progresses. This is the first year we have seen this species and were quite surprised by its appearance. It is closely gregarious, elongated merging into short plasmodiocarps about 0.5mm across, calcerous greyish white at maturity
