Damn, it's not on the Bowerbird database! Please don't officially id it unless you disagree with my id. I'll add it to Atlas directly and any id here will create a duplicate record. Confirmation would be most appreciated (or finding a synonym to id from here). Atlas has a synonym of Bacteria frenchi, but that didn't work either. About 50-55mm, wingless. No wing stubs either. Has "2 spines between the eyes". It's obviously well camouflaged as a spider has made cobwebs on it :-) Red patches underneath and white thorax streaks at the leg joints. Cheers Brett0 votes

Thanks so much Matthew :-) We let him go to do his business ;-) But I did get one fuzzy shot of the end of the abdomen. Have added it above. Probably better than nothing. Cheers Brett0 votes

I can't find a synonym for H. tuberculatus anywhere in the system, but I can confirm that it is indeed an adult male of that species. There don't appear to be any other good photos of males online so these are quite valuable - if you still have him it would be good to get a closeup lateral photo of the end of the abdomen, but if not these photos are still excellent!1 votes
